Hey, I read The African Queen, listed on Mr Linky at #8. I've ended up changing the name of my blog from Gimme Some Book Learnin to Old Fashioned Book Learning.
The review can now be found at: http://oldfashionedbooklearnin.blogspot.com/2010/01/african-queen-cs-forester.html
This week I read Goddess Girls: Athena the Brain. It's about a girl named Athena who thought she was a mortal and then found out she was Zeus' daughter. Now she had to go to Mt. Olympus Academy to learn to be a goddess. She meets Artemis, Aphrodite, Persephone, Poseidon, and even Medusa.
I thought the book was great and funny. And I learned a lot about Greek mythology.
I just read Call Me Mrs. Miracle. I know when filling out applications they usually have a section called title and it will have options of Mr. Mrs. Ms. or Miss. So I guess this falls into this category.
My book for this one is MISS ALAINEUS: A Vocabulary Disaster, by Debra Frasier. She is the author & illustrator of this fun picture book. It's a challenge for Mrs. Page's 5th-grade class to write sentence, for each letter of the alphabet sequentially, that has three words in the sentence, beginning with the selected letter. As in, for Q: With one quiet question, my life sank into quicksand.

I read The Queen of Palmyra.
Need a consensus (or at least an opinion!) on a Title title: The Patron Saint of Liars. Do you think it qualifies? Is Saint a title?
I'm easygoing -- I'll accept Saint for a title.
Review of Major Pettigrew's Last Stand is up on my blog!
I'm glad that I discovered Alice Hoffman. I really enjoy her writing. I posted my review of The Ice Queen.
